2023 Photo Competition
PHOTO COMPETITION
Conference attendees are invited to enter their best photos into the 2023 Birds NZ photo competition.
1. General competition: Best photo of a New Zealand bird.
- Photos must be printed on A4, colour or black-and-white, landscape or portrait format.
- Each photo must have a removeable sticker on the back giving the title of the photo, name, address and contact phone number of the entrant
- If the entrant wants the photos returned a stamped and addressed envelope must be provided, or the entrant can retrieve the photo at the end of the conference if they are attending.
- Entries must be posted to 230 Brown Road, RD 42, Waitara 4382, to arrive no later than 5pm on 31 May.
- Photos must be taken by the entrant
- Photos must be of a New Zealand bird(s) and taken within the 12 months prior to the closing date for entries.
2. Photo essay: Best collection of three to five photos telling a story related to New Zealand birds. Must have a conservation or education theme.
- Photos must be printed on A4, colour or black-and-white, landscape or portrait format, or both.
- Each photo must have a removeable sticker on the back giving name, address and contact phone number
- Each photo must also be numbered one to five so they can be displayed in the correct order
- Each collection must have a title, and a named theme.
- Each photo in the collection must have a caption to help tell the story of the essay
- If the entrant wants the photos returned a stamped and addressed envelope must be provided, or the entrant can retrieve the photo at the end of the conference if they are attending.
- Entries must be posted to 230 Brown Road, RD 42, Waitara 4382, to arrive no later than 5pm on 31 May.
- Photos must be taken by the entrant
- Photos must be taken within the 12 months prior to the closing date for entries.
3. Supreme award: The judges will award a best entry of the conference to one of the winners of the two competitions above.
